How to Resolve Error "Page Cannot Be Found HTTP Error 404" if SharePoint is Installed

Summary

When SharePoint is administering ASP applications, the following error may display when attempting to access a Webport webpage: "Page cannot be found http error 404". This error is caused by SharePoint blocking the ASP webpage.

More Information

When using SharePoint the ASP application should be accessible via UNC pathing such as: http://servername/FRxWebport
Follow the steps below in SharePoint to prevent the FRxWebport ASP webpages from being blocked:
  1. Click Access All Programs.
  2. Click Administrative Tools.
  3. Click SharePoint Central Administration.
  4. Select Configure virtual server settings in the Virtual Server Configuration section of the page.
  5. Select a virtual server (default is Default Web Site).
  6. Select Define managed paths in the Virtual Server Management section of the page.
  7. In the Add a New Path section at the bottom of the path do the following:
    • Add FRxWebPort to the Path box
    • Select the Excluded Path radio button.
  8. Click OK.
After following steps above the FRxWebPort path will no longer be administered by SharePoint and the ASP webpages will run successfully.
