When you start Business Contact Manager for Microsoft Office Outlook 2007, you may receive one of the following error messages:
  • There is not enough free memory to run this program. Quit one or more programs, and then try again
  • Out of system resources
  • Out of memory
  • There was a problem reading one or more of your reminders. Some reminders may not appear. There is not enough memory available to perform the operation
Business Contact Manager enumerates all folders in your profile to enable the e-mail auto-linking feature. The error occurs when you have a large number of folders. The folder number is a combination of all folders in all stores in your profile.

To install this hotfix:
  1. You must have Office 2007 Service Pack 2 installed.

  2. This hotfix only resolves the problem if your store has the DoNotCrawl property. This property is not present on personal folders (.pst) files or offline folder (.ost) files by default.

    To add the DoNotCrawl property to your stores, click the Fix it button below.

Depending on your Outlook settings you may receive one of the prompts below when you click the "Fix it" button. do not click Cancel or Deny.

You may be prompted to allow access for X minutes by this dialog:

  1. Select Allow access for
  2. Select 10 minutes in the drop-down

If your PST has been password protected, you may see this prompt:

If you have more than one Outlook profile on the machine you could be prompted to select a profile:

Select the profile that is experiencing the issue.

Restart requirement

You do not have to restart the computer after you apply this hotfix.

To use one of the hotfixes in this package, you do not have to make any changes to the registry.

This hotfix may not contain all the files that you must have to fully update a product to the latest build. This hotfix contains only the files that you must have to correct the issue that is listed in this article.

The Global version of this hotfix package uses a Microsoft Windows Installer package to install the hotfix package. The dates and the times for these files are listed in Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) in the following table. When you view the file information, the date is converted to local time. To find the difference between UTC and local time, use the Time Zone tab in the Date and Time item in Control Panel.

You can use one of the following methods to workaround this problem without installing the hotfix:
  • Reduce the number of folders in your profile by removing .pst files or combining folders.
  • Disable the e-mail auto-linking feature through the user interface. To do this, follow these steps:
    1. Click Business Contact Manager.
    2. Click Manage E-mail Autolinking.
    3. Click the Folders tab.
    4. Click to Clear the Personal Folders check box.
  • If you cannot disable the e-mail auto-linking feature through the user interface, follow these steps:
    1. Click Start, and then click
      Run.Type regedit, and then click
    2. Locate and then click the following registry subkey:
      HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Business Solutions eCRM
    3. On the Edit menu, point to
      New, and then click DWORD Value.
    4. Type EnableEAA, and then press ENTER.
    5. Right-click EnableEAA, and then click
    6. In the Value data box, type
      0, and then click OK.
    7. Exit Registry Editor.
Note This method disables the e-mail auto-linking feature for all stores and you cannot re-enable it through the user interface.
