"Handling of this ADS value Type is not yet implemented" error when you run a Web-aware COM application

When an ASP.NET Web-aware COM application accesses a computer that is running Microsoft Windows 2000 server and Active Directory, you may receive the following error message:
Handling of this ADS value Type is not yet implemented.
This problem occurs if all the following conditions are true:
- An ASP.NET Web-aware COM application uses the LDAP V2 schema to access a computer that is running Windows 2000 Server and Active Directory.
- The Active Directory server is configured to use the LDAP V3 schema.
- The COM application is not correctly configured for impersonation.
Hotfix informationA supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that this article describes. Apply it only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem.

888243 You receive a “Can’t Convert from Native Datatype” error message when a Web-aware COM program accesses a Windows 2000 Server-based computerThe hotfix that is described in Knowledge Base article 835554 does not fix all the credential management problems that can occur in Active Directory Service Interfaces (ADSI).
