Journal, a Microsoft Garage project, is an incubation application designed for pen-capable Windows 10 devices. Journal will install on devices without a pen, but for the best experience you should use a device with digital pen support.
Note: The information in this article applies to the most current functionality available in Journal. Like most modern software, the experience in Journal is frequently updated to add new functionality and to improve existing features. Are there any known issues with Journal?
These are the current known issues or limitations in Journal.

Ink may stop being recognized if the system is under heavy resource usage. Restarting the app can usually help.

Ink written in different languages other than English may not be detected correctly.

Sign in requires a Work or School account. Journal currently only supports signing in with a Work or School account to access your Calendar and list of People from your Microsoft 365 Graph. If you try to sign in with a Personal account, such as a @outlook.com or @msn.com account you won't be able to sign into Journal.

Journal can't access your Documents library default save location. Journal requires access to a save location inside your Documents library. In most cases, this library includes your Documents folder, and may include additional file system locations where your documents can be found. If your Documents library is empty for any reason, Journal won't be able to determine a default save location. Journal will display a warning message to you letting it know that it can't find a save location. To fix this, you should add a folder into your Documents library or restore the Documents library to its default settings.
