You do not receive an error message that validates the tax exempt number as expected when you create a new customer in the Customers dialog box for a specific customer in Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012

Applies To
Financials Accounts Receivable

This article applies to Microsoft Dynamics AX for all regions.

Symptoms

Consider the following scenario in Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012:

  • You double-click on one of the customers in the Customers dialog box that lists all customers. Additionally, the system redirects you to a dialog box that shows the information for a specific customer.
  • You click New Customer in the Customers dialog box.
  • You create a new customer.
  • You save the customer.

In this scenario, you do not receive an error message that validates the tax exempt number as expected if the tax exempt number is not valid.

Cause

This problem occurs because the logic in the valiateWrite method that checks the CheckTaxExcempyNumber field for appropriate tax exempt number is incorrect.
