Edit local Group Policy

Local Group Policy Editor is a Microsoft Management Console (MMC) snap-in that you can use to edit Group Policy settings for a local PC.

To open Local Group Policy Editor, select the Start

Start symbol
button, then type gpedit and select Edit group policy.

If you're new to Group Policy, see Group Policy management for IT pros for Windows 7. The editor is the same for Windows 10. However, you should download the Windows 10 Administrative Templates for Group Policy to get all the Windows 10 settings.

In the console tree of the Local Group Policy Editor, expand the tree to view the policy setting folders. Select a folder to view the policy settings in the details pane. Select a policy setting to see the details and options for the setting. You can edit the setting by enabling or disabling it.
