Find the person you want to send an IM to by doing one of the following: From the Contacts screen, tap someone in your Contacts list. Or, press the Menu button, tap search, and then start typing a person’s name in the search box. The results appear below the box.

Stay connected to friends across your social networks while gaming on a Windows device. Link your favorites such as Discord, Reddit, Steam, Twitch, and more. Microsoft 365 includes Lync , which lets you have instant messaging (IM), audio and video conversations, and Lync Meetings. To download Lync, sign in to Microsoft 365, then at the top of the page, click Settings > Office 365 settings > Software > Lync.

You can send an IM from anywhere in Lync where you see a contact. Just check that the vertical bar on the left side of the person’s picture is green, or the “available” label is displayed, both of which indicate they’re ready to receive.

You can have instant messaging (IM) conversations with one or more contacts. In the instant message you can choose the font type and characteristics, such as bold, underline, italics, and color.
