Adding money to your own account balance

To add money to your Microsoft Account balance, you need to redeem a Microsoft gift card. If you don't have one, you can purchase a gift card.
Adding money to a child's account balance

Go to family.microsoft.com.

Find your family member, then select or scroll down to Spending.

Select Add Money then choose the amount to add to their account and click Next.

Select your form of payment and Buy, or select Change > Add a new payment method.
Adding a way to pay

Go to the Payment options page of your account dashboard.

Select Add a new payment method.

Select the type of payment method you want to add, add your info, and select Save.
