Spending limits in Family Safety
Applies To
You can add money to a child's Microsoft account so they can learn to make safe and age-appropriate purchases on their own, within a limit. The child will always need approval to make purchases above their age limit or when they’re out of money in their Microsoft account.
You’ll always receive purchase requests from your child as a notification on your phone and in the Family Safety notification feed. When spending notifications are turned on, you’ll always be notified about:
-
Purchases they made on their own in the Microsoft or Xbox stores
-
Money added to their account by other Family organizers
-
Purchase requests approved by other Family organizers
You’ll always be able to review this in Spending activity.Â
If you want to add a credit card directly to the child account, add that first. You'll need to sign in to your child's Microsoft account to add a credit card.
