FIX: PolyBase queries that target Parquet or ORC files in HDP 3.0 or later will fail with pushdown computation enabled

Applies to: SQL Server 2017 on Windows (all editions)

Symptoms


Assume that you use SQL Server 2017. When you enable pushdown computation to run PolyBase queries to Parquet or ORC files in HDP 3.0 or later versions, you notice that the queries fail.

Status


Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.

This issue is fixed in the following cumulative update for SQL Server:
