Known issues in this update

Symptom Workaround

The January 2020 Security Updates for the Windows Server 2012 (version 9200.22952.2001101758) and Windows Server 2012 R2 (version 9600.19599.2001101806) Marketplace images (12 SKUs) do not have the full cumulative .NET Monthly Rollup update pre-installed.

From the Control Panel, uninstall the .NET security-only updates listed below:

  • KB 4532969 for Windows Server 2012
  • KB 4532970 for Windows Server 2012R2

Use Check for updates on the affected virtual machines to get the latest .NET rollup updates listed below from Windows Update:

  • KB 4535103 for Windows Server 2012
  • KB 4535104 for Windows Server 2012R2

Microsoft has created new versions of the Windows Server 2012 and Windows Server 2012 R2 Marketplace images with the full .NET payload.

These new images are now available on the Azure Marketplace.
