Select the paragraph or paragraphs you'd like to format.

Go to the Home tab, and select the
Paragraph dialog launcher in the Paragraph group. -
Under Indentation, use Before text and Special to set the indentation and alignment you want:

Before text determines how far the text is indented from the left margin.

You can use the Special options to only indent the first line, or to add a hanging indent.
Tip:Â Indentation is measured in inches, and it can be any whole number or decimal, such as 1.2 inches.

Select the bulleted or numbered list that you'd like to change.

On the ruler, drag the first-line indent marker to change the position of bullets or numbers.

Drag the pointed top part of the left indent marker to change the position of the text.

Drag the rectangle bottom of the left indent marker to move all indents in the list and keep the text-bullet relationship intact.

Note:Â If the ruler isn't visible at the top of your slide, on the View tab, select the Ruler check box.

Select the bulleted or numbered list that you'd like to change.

Go to the Home tab. On the simplified ribbon, select the ellipsis (
) and choose Paragraph Options. On the classic ribbon, select the Paragraph dialog launcher in the Paragraph group. -
Under Indentation, adjust the indents as you want.
