Only full-width characters can be set as true vertical text. Half-width characters, such as numbers, are stacked as if they are Chinese or Japanese characters. However, you can set these to be combined so that they appear correctly.
-
Select the half-width numbers that you want to appear together in a horizontal line.
-
On the Home tab, under Paragraph, click Asian Layout , and then click Horizontal in Vertical.
