If you see Disconnected, Working Offline, or Trying to connect..., Outlook can't reach the email server. Contact your email provider or network administrator to see whether the mail server is available. If it is, check to make sure Outlook is online:

Choose Send/Receive.

In Preferences, select Work offline to toggle between offline and online mode. Once you're back to online mode you may need to open the message and send it again or choose Send/Receive.
