Copilot Draft fails in classic Outlook with error "Sorry, something went wrong. Copilot is working on it."

ISSUE

Starting with the update to version 2605, users cannot use Copilot draft in a new E-Mail. Selecting generate returns "Sorry, something went wrong. Copilot is working on it." 

STATUS: FIXED

The Outlook Team addressed this issue with a change from the service on May 27th, 2026. To pick up the change, restart Outlook. If you reverted Outlook to workaround the issue, please make sure to re-enable updates by selecting File > Office Account > Update Options > Enable Updates.
