Create a team

Important: You must have permissions to create a team. If you can't create a team, contact your IT admin. Or you can Create a channel.

1. In combined view on the   Chat tab, or separate view on the   ​​​​​​​Teams tab, select More list options () at the top, and choose  ​​​​​​​Your teams and channels. 

2. At the top of the Your teams pane, select  Create team.

3. You can create a team from scratch or select More create team options to create from a template, another team, or a group. 

Follow the prompts to customize, choose Private or Public, and naming the team. Choose  Private or  Public carefully, once a team is created, this can't be changed.
