ISSUE
Office Dogfood and Insider channels were not updated automatically for some builds in August 2025.
When you manually update Office from any Office application by selecting File > Account > Update Options > Update Now, you may get the error code:
“Error Code: 30094-27”
STATUS: WORKAROUND
The Office Team fixed the issue, but some users were still not updating automatically.
To work around the issue, please do one of the following:
Workaround 1: Restart Windows and manually update.

Restart Windows.

Open Word and select File > Account > Update Options > Update Now. Office may have been updated automatically. If so, you will get “You’re up to date”.
Workaround 2: Restart the Click-to-Run services and manually update.

Close any open Office applications.

Open a Command Prompt window in Administrator context, (right click Command Prompt and select Run as Administrator), and then type or paste the command below and press Enter:net stop clicktorunsvc & net start clicktorunsvc

Open Word and select File > Account > Update Options > Update Now.
