While composing a message in classic Outlook, select Insert > Symbol.

Select a symbol to insert.Â

If you want, select
 More Symbols to see additional symbols and choose one. -
Select Insert and then Close.
Tip: The Segoe UI Symbol font set has the most commonly used symbols. Use the Font selector above the symbol list to pick a font to use.
While composing a message in new Outlook, you can use the Alt key plus numerals on your keyboard's numeric keypad to insert an ASCII or Unicode Latin-based symbol:

On your keypad, ensure that Num Lock is turned on.

Press and hold the Alt key, then press the numeric code for the symbol you want to insert. Examples:
