Use Make a test call to check your headphones or speakers, microphone, and video for calls, chats, or meetings

Select the ellipsis (...) next to your profile initials or picture and choose Settings.

Choose Devices, and then select Make a test call.

When asked, record a short message which is then be played back to you.

If all is well, wait or select the red Leave button. You can select Leave anytime during the call.

Headphones or Speakers: In a Test call, if your sound is working, you'll hear ringing first and then a voice asking you to record a short message. If not, make sure the correct headphones or speakers are chosen under the Speaker drop-down in settings. If you don't hear the voice, check the volume in Windows. Microphone: if you don't hear your recorded voice, check to make sure your microphone isn't on mute. If the mic is on, but you still don't hear the your voice, see if it works in another app if possible. For more info, see My microphone isn't working in Teams.

Camera or video: If your camera is working, you'll see the view either full screen or in the lower right corner. If you don't see the preview, make sure video is turned on. If you have multiple cameras, scroll down to the camera section in device settings and make sure the correct camera is chosen from the drop down list. If it's still not working, the camera may not be turned on in Windows. For more info, see My camera isn't working in Teams.
Notes:

Teams deletes your test recording immediately after the call. It won't be retained or used by Microsoft.

The test call feature is currently only available in Teams desktop app for Windows and Mac.
