Moving tasks so that one task's start date is near the other task's finish date
You have moved two tasks near each other, indicating that there may be a possible dependency between them. If one task is dependent on another, you can link them so that the later task will begin as soon as the earlier task is completed. By linking tasks, you can see later how changes in the start, finish, and duration of a task affect other dependent tasks.
Note: Go to Link tasks in a project for additional information.
Using the Planning Wizard, you can:
Link the tasks creating a finish-to-start dependency.
Microsoft Project will link the tasks so that the later task will not begin until the earlier task finishes.
Move the task without adding a link.
Project will move the task, but will not link it to any other tasks. The task will begin on the date to which you moved it.
If you don't want the Planning Wizard to display this information again, select the Don't tell me about this again check box.
