If Microsoft OneDrive shows "Processing changes" or "A file is in use by another application" for a long time, it could be because:
You opened an online file and are using Files On-Demand. This will be shown in the Activity Center as 'A file is in use by another application'. Learn how to mark the file as Always available..
You're syncing a lot of files. Learn how to Pause and then Resume sync until a time when your network is quieter. Note: This is not applicable to OneDrive for work or school. Learn about limitations with syncing a large number of files.
You're trying to sync a large file, such as a video or Outlook PST file. Move large files out of OneDrive. Learn how to move PST files.
Use Files on Demand. Learn how in Windows 10 or Mac. You can also choose which folders to sync.
