If you need to re-install the Office or Microsoft 365 apps, we recommend that you uninstall Office first. After you've uninstalled the apps, follow the steps below.
Important: If you purchased an Office pre-installed PC for personal in Japan, a personal Microsoft account are required to activate the Office apps in your device.
Reinstall Office or Microsoft 365 apps

Go to the Microsoft account dashboard , select Sign in

Sign in with the Microsoft account you used to set up the Office or Microsoft 365
(If you forgot your account details, see I forgot the account I use with Office.)

Select the Subscriptions icon in the left pane in the main page

Subscriptions page opens

If you are using an Office perpetual license product:
Check the "same product name" is displayed under the Products you've purchased section in the page and select the Install link in it

If you are using a Microsoft 365 Personal subscription:
Check the Install Microsoft 365 link is displayed in the upper right of the page and select it

Install Microsoft 365 dialog opens

Select a language from Choose a language menu

Select a bit version from Choose a version menu
(If you're not sure which version is right for you, please see Choose the 64-bit or 32-bit version of Office.)

Select Install button in the dialog

Download an installer (OfficeSetup.exe) in your device

Double-click the downloaded installer

The Installation dialog opens and starts installation

You're all set message is shown in the dialog when the installation is completed

Select Close to close the dialog

Be sure you're connected to the Internet and then open any application, such as Word or Excel.

In most cases, the Office or Microsoft 365 apps are activated once you start an application and after you click Accept to agree to the Microsoft Software License terms. (However, when you launch an app, you may be prompted to sign in to your Microsoft account. At that time, please sign in to activate the apps.)

Go to the Microsoft account dashboard, select Sign in button

Download the disk image file (.img)
(The file name of the downloaded file depends on the product name.)

Double-click the disk image file to mount the virtual drive

Select the Office folder from the virtual drive

Double-click either the Setup32.exe to install the 32-bit version, or Setup64.exe to install the 64-bit version to begin the offline installation

The Installation dialog opens and starts installation

You're all set message is shown in the dialog when the installation is completed
