Select the slide or slides with the background you'd like to remove.

On the Design tab, at the right end, select Format Background.

In the Format Background pane, select Solid Fill, then choose white or another color from the Color drop-down list.
Tip: After that, if there are still any unwanted graphics appearing in the background, select the Hide background graphics checkbox.

To remove the background from all slides in the file, at the very bottom of the pane, select Apply to All.

On the View menu, select Normal, and then in the navigation pane, select the slide or slides that you want to change.

On the Design tab, at the right end in the Customize group, select Format Background.

Select Fill, and then select the Solid fill option.

From the Color list, choose white or whichever color you want.
Tip: if there are still any unwanted graphics appearing in the background, select the Hide Background Graphics checkbox.

On the Design tab, select Background.

Select Solid Fill, and pick White, Background 1 at the upper left corner of the color gallery.
(The background color of the current slide is immediately changed.)

To apply this same color to the rest of your slides, on the Design tab, select Background > Apply to All.
