Important: As of September 30, 2022, Safe will no longer be available in Teams for personal and small business use on mobile. Please make sure that you export or copy any data you currently have saved in Safe before it goes away. Learn more about how to export your Safe data.

When you share an item from Safe in Teams for personal and small business use, what you’re really doing is adding an item to the Safe in that chat (either a group or one-to-one chat). You can also choose to share an item from your personal Safe in a chat; this will create a copy of that item in the chat Safe.

The first time other people in the chat want to open an item you placed in the Safe, you will have to grant access by selecting the Requesting access to this Safe notification in the chat. Once you allow each member to access the Safe, they will be able to open a copy of the item(s) you placed in the Safe.

When you remove an item from the Safe in a chat, the item will still show as a message in the chat, but it will no longer be available.

Note: This feature is currently available on Teams for iOS and Android.
