Microsoft 365 automatically applies superscript formatting to the ends of ordinal numbers, which are numbers that show the relative position of something in a sequence, such as 21st, 22nd, 23rd, and so on.
Here's how you can stop the automatic formatting by canceling superscript mode.
-
Select File> Options.
-
Select Proofing, and under AutoCorrect options, select AutoCorrect Options.
-
Go to AutoFormat As You Type and clear the Ordinals (1st) with superscript to prevent the app from applying superscript formatting to numbers.
-
On the Word or PowerPoint menu, select Preferences, and then select AutoCorrect.
-
Go to AutoFormat as You Type and clear the Ordinals (1st) with superscript to prevent the app from applying superscript formatting to numbers.
