Introducing Trello integration with Loop

You can now bring Trello boards into Loop for easy and effective collaboration with your colleagues.

Add a Trello board to your Loop page

  1. Type / and then select Trello from the Apps menu.

  2. Select Proceed and sign in to your Trello account with your Trello credentials if not already signed in.

  3. After you've successfully signed in, select Allow to grant Trello read/write access to Loop.

  4. Last, choose the board you want to import and select Import.

    Notes:

    • You can only import a board with a minimum of 1 card and a maximum of 100 cards.

    • Your active session duration lasts 24 hours after you sign in. After that you'll be asked to sign in again.

    • If you encounter difficulties proceeding with the integration, one of the following reasons may be responsible:

      • Optional connected experience is not enabled: To resolve this, try enabling the Optional Connected Experience (OCE) from the privacy settings (accessible through the three-dot menu) on Loop, or reach out to your IT admin.

      • Atlassian admin console is blocking 3P integrations: In this case, it is recommended to contact Atlassian's admin and request approval for the integration. They can make the necessary changes in the admin portal to enable the integration for you.

      • Using an MSA account: Please note that this third-party integration is currently unavailable for Microsoft consumer accounts (users who have Microsoft 365 Personal or Family subscriptions). To proceed with the integration, you will need to log in using an official work or school account.

What can be done in the Trello board

Board interactions

You can do the following in an imported Board on Loop:

  • Drag and drop cards across swim lanes

  • Add or change members

  • Add or change due date

Context menu

In the top right of the Trello board, select the drop down menu to:

  • Sign in to your Trello account (if not already logged in).

  • Open the Trello board at Trello.com. This will open a new web page.

  • Disconnect your Trello account from the Loop page using the Logout option.

Note: The board will stay on the Loop page in read-only mode after logging out.

Deleting the Trello board

You can delete the Trello board from Loop at any time:

  • With the Trello board highlighted, select backspace.

  • Select the six-dot menu next to the Trello board and choose Delete

Important: Deleting the board from Loop does not delete it from your Trello account.

Data view, updates, and sync

  • All users with access to the Loop page will be able to view the imported Trello board.

  • Changes made in Loop or on Trello.com will sync in near real-time.

  • The latest update time is shown by the timestamp next to the Trello icon in the top right of the board.

  • Unauthenticated users will have only read access and no write access. They will have to sign in to make changes.

  • Users with no access to the imported board will only have read access and no write access.

  • The imported board will remain in Read only mode in native Loop mobile apps (iOS and Android), and to make edits, you'll need to navigate back to Loop desktop web app.

Turn your Trello board into a Loop component to use in other apps

You can take your Trello board to other Loop supported apps like Outlook and Teams.

  • To do this you need to convert your imported board into a component using the six-dot menu on the left side of the board.

  • After the component is created, you can copy the link to the component (from top right) and paste it in Teams or Outlook.

  • The Trello board in other apps will remain in read-only mode. Changes to the board can only be made from the Loop web app.

  • The data stays updated as per the latest changes on Trello.com for all Loop supported hosts.

Important: Your use of Trello boards within Microsoft Loop is governed by Atlassian's Terms of Use and Atlassian's privacy policy will apply.
