In GroupMe, when you try to add someone to a group, you might get the error Failed to add member to ‘Group name’, the member might show as not allowed, or nothing will happen. You may also receive the Something went wrong error when attempting to add a member.
If you experience an error adding a member to a group, try one of the following:

Create a share link to the group and send it to your contact via email, text message (SMS), Facebook, Twitter, and more.

Share a QR Code for your friend to scan and join the group.
