Find out the minimum wattage needed to charge your Surface, the wattage recommended for fast charging (if supported), and which Surface power supply model goes with your Surface device (if included).

Close and reopen the lid or keyboard, then press the power button to turn on your Surface. If the LED light on your Surface Connect charger is blinking, flashing, or off, see What to do if your Surface power supply or charger doesn’t work.

If you are using Surface Book or Surface Laptop Studio performance models, please remove all accessories and ensure your Surface Dock is connected to the original in-box power supply that came with your Surface Dock.

Use the power supply designed for your Surface to charge it. You can charge using the Surface Connect port or, if your device has a USB-C port, use a USB Type-C Power Delivery (PD) charger.

If possible, try charging your Surface Slim Pen with another charger such as the Surface Slim Pen Charger. If the pen does not charge there either, your pen should be replaced.
