This article applies to Microsoft Dynamics NAV for all countries and all language locales.

Symptoms

Assume that you run the "Suggest Item Price on Wksh." Report in Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2009. If you use a filter for Unit of Measure (UoM), you receive the following error message:

The Item Unit of Measure does not exist.

For example, you set the Sales Type value to All Customers and set the Unit of Measure Code value to PCS when you run the report. When the system reaches an item that uses a different UOM code, for example CAN, the report stops because of the error message. This problem occurs in the following products:

  • Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2009 R2

  • Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2009 Service Pack 1

Resolution

Hotfix information

A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft. However, it is only intended to correct the problem that is described in this article. Apply it only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix may receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2009 service pack or the next Microsoft Dynamics NAV version that contains this hotfix.

Note In special cases, charges that are ordinarily incurred for support calls may be canceled if a Technical Support Professional for Microsoft Dynamics and related products determines that a specific update will resolve your problem. The usual support costs will apply to additional support questions and issues that do not qualify for the specific update in question.

Code changes

Note Always test code fixes in a controlled environment before you apply the fixes to your production computers.
To resolve this problem, follow these steps:

  1. Change the code of the Data Item Number 1 in the Suggest Item Price on Wksh. report (7051) as follows:
    Existing code 1

    ...
    OnAfterGetRecord=BEGIN
    Window.UPDATE(1,"No.");
    WITH SalesPriceWksh DO BEGIN
    INIT;
    VALIDATE("Item No.",Item."No.");

    // Delete the following lines.

    IF NOT ("Unit of Measure Code" IN [Item."Base Unit of Measure",'']) THEN
    IF NOT ItemUnitOfMeasure.GET("Item No.","Unit of Measure Code") THEN
    // End of the lines.

    CurrReport.SKIP;

    VALIDATE("Unit of Measure Code",ToUnitofMeasure.Code);
    "Current Unit Price" :=
    ROUND(
    ...

    Replacement code 1

    ...
    OnAfterGetRecord=BEGIN
    Window.UPDATE(1,"No.");
    WITH SalesPriceWksh DO BEGIN
    INIT;
    VALIDATE("Item No.",Item."No.");

    // Add the following lines.
    IF ToUnitofMeasure.Code <> '' THEN
    IF NOT ItemUnitOfMeasure.GET("Item No.",ToUnitofMeasure.Code) THEN
    // End of the lines.

    CurrReport.SKIP;

    VALIDATE("Unit of Measure Code",ToUnitofMeasure.Code);
    "Current Unit Price" :=
    ROUND(
    ...

    Existing code 2

    ...
    RoundingMethod.Precision,COPYSTR('=><',RoundingMethod.Type + 1,1));
    "New Unit Price" := "New Unit Price" + RoundingMethod."Amount Added After";
    END;

    CalcCurrentPrice(PriceAlreadyExists);

  2. Change the code in the CalcCurrentPrice1 function in the Suggest Item Price on Wksh. report (7051) as follows:
    Existing code

    ...
    ToEndDate := 0D;
    END;
    END;

    // Add the following lines.
    PROCEDURE CalcCurrentPrice1@1(VAR PriceAlreadyExists@1000 : Boolean);
    VAR
    SalesPrice@1001 : Record 7002;

    "Current Unit Price" := SalesPrice."Unit Price";
    "Price Includes VAT" := SalesPrice."Price Includes VAT";
    "Allow Line Disc." := SalesPrice."Allow Line Disc.";
    "Allow Invoice Disc." := SalesPrice."Allow Invoice Disc.";
    "VAT Bus. Posting Gr. (Price)" := SalesPrice."VAT Bus. Posting Gr. (Price)";
    PriceAlreadyExists := SalesPrice."Starting Date" = "Starting Date";
    "Unit of Measure Code" := SalesPrice."Unit of Measure Code";

    IF NOT PriceAlreadyExists THEN
    "VAT Bus. Posting Gr. (Price)" := Item."VAT Bus. Posting Gr. (Price)";

    IF PriceAlreadyExists OR CreateNewPrices THEN BEGIN
    SalesPriceWksh2 := SalesPriceWksh;
    IF SalesPriceWksh2.FIND('=') THEN
    SalesPriceWksh.MODIFY
    ELSE
    SalesPriceWksh.INSERT;
