Symptoms
Consider the following scenario:

You have an application that hosts the Internet Explorer 8 or Internet Explorer 9 WebBrowser control.

Interaction occurs with HTML elements that are rendered in the application.

The application tries to position or update the cursor.
In this scenario, a fault in Mshtml.dll may occur.
Cause
This problem occurs when an HTML element is dynamically removed from the current rendered view and one or more HTML elements scroll into view directly under the pointer location. In this case, the element under the pointer is enumerated in addition to its ancestors to identify any associated text or tooltip properties. If the enumeration process tries to dereference an element that was just removed from the current view, the fault occurs.
