Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:

  • You install the Fax Server role and the Desktop Experience feature on a computer that is running Windows Server 2008 or Windows Server 2008 R2.

  • In the Fax Service Manager, you clear the Include banner check box on the Outbox tab.

  • You create a Tagged Image File Format (TIFF) file by using the fax printer, and then send it out as a fax by using the fax service.

In this scenario, the TIFF file is not sent correctly. Additionally, the fax service reports a fatal error.

Cause

This issue occurs because of an issue in the fax printer driver.
