Symptoms

A user is displayed two times in a membership list of a Microsoft Lync Server 2010, Group Chat channel. This issue occurs when the following conditions are true:

  • A child domain or a child group is added under the Scope tab in Group Chat Administration Tool.

  • The user who is displayed two times in the membership list is a member of both the parent and child group, or the parent and child domain.


Cause

This issue occurs because a procGetExplicitRoleList stored procedure is mishandled. The stored procedure is used to pull the membership list for a specific chat room.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, install the following cumulative update:
