This article describes the prerequisites and requirements prior to installing the Nuance AI Results Manager (ARM) software on the Nuance Accelerator Gateway Server (AGS) enabling your facility to partner with the Nuance Precision Imaging Network—a connected AI-powered community of technology and data, offering a variety of services that aggregate and deliver diagnostic intelligence and drive optimal patient care.

  • The Precision Imaging Network delivers precise diagnostic and therapeutic insights to specialty providers derived from medical images to make more informed clinical decisions.

  • The ARM functions as a communication pathway for AI results and AI driven workflows and will be installed for all configurations of the Precision Imaging Network.

ARM/AIRM V2

AI Results Manager Service (Windows Service)

Nuance recommends the AIRM Windows Service be performed on the site’s Nuance Gateway Server (AGS). Alternatively, customers may decide to use a dedicated server.

Server Operating System Requirements

  • 64-bit Windows Server OS 2016 or higher (non-server versions will work but are not recommended).

Note: VM environments are acceptable.

  • For additional technical requirements refer to the AGS documentation.

Network access

The host machine, typically the AGS, will need the following network access:

  • Internet

  • Local

    • PowerScribe server via HTTPS

    • Any additional integrations discussed

Windows User Account Requirements

The AIRM Windows Service requires a Windows User Account with a Windows user profile. This can be a local user on the (AGS) or a domain user, but Nuance recommends it be dedicated the AIRM windows service and its password be treated as secret requiring rotation as opposed to a user password expiring on a schedule.

Domain user (Recommended)

  • Unprivileged account

  • Do not add this user to business groups

  • Do not add this user to groups with any administrative privileges or access privileges

  • Consider adding a group that represents service accounts on your AGS

Local user

If a domain user can’t be used (or a local user is preferred) that is an option. Ensure the following:

  • Unprivileged account

  • The user is not added to any local groups

Local Policy (On the AGS or host machine)

The user should be granted the following permissions:

  • Log on as batch job

  • Log on as service

Technical expectations

Please be aware of the following technical expectations for the Windows User Account that the AIRM service will run as. Many of these will be consistent with the default behavior of the environment.

  • User can create and maintain a user profile (required for encryption using the Windows Data Protection API).

  • Password is exempt from standard password expiration policy.

Note: Establishing a rotation with your Nuance Rep is recommended.

  • User has Read and Execute permissions for the service installation directory.

  • User has Read and Write permissions for “%LOCALAPPDATA%\”.

Note: This is a user-specific environment variable, it should be the user’s local app data folder.

  • User is the Owner and has Read and Write permissions for “%LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft\AI Results Manager\” and all subdirectories.

Note: This is a user-specific environment variable, it should be the user’s local app data folder.

  • It is possible to run commands as this user on the local machine (typically the AGS) using the “runas” command.

Note: The user account control “Account is sensitive and cannot be delegated” should not interfere with local account delegation

Access Prerequisites

  • Nuance SecureLink preferred
