Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:

  • You have a Bluetooth device that is connected to a computer that is running Windows 8.1 or Windows RT 8.1.

  • A Bluetooth low energy (Bluetooth LE) device that supports the Basic Rate (BR) and Enhanced Data Rate (EDR) modes is positioned near the computer, and it can be searched for by the computer.

  • You turn off and then turn on the first Bluetooth device.

In this scenario, the Bluetooth device cannot reconnect to the computer.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, install the November 2014 update rollup for Windows RT 8.1, Windows 8.1, and Windows Server 2012 R2.

Status

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
