Symptoms
Consider the following scenario:

You view a read-only image by using Windows Photo Viewer on a Windows 8-based device.

You make some changes to the image. For example, you use the touch function to rotate the image.

You try to view to the next image by using the pan gesture, and then you receive an error message that resembles the following:
Windows Photo Viewer can't save changes to this picture. Verify that the picture is not set to read-only and make sure you have permission to save to the file location, and then try again.

You try to dismiss the error message by tapping OK or Close.
In this scenario, you cannot dismiss the error message.
Cause
This issue occurs because a related function does not check whether the image file is read-only when the function is called.
