Matching in Learning Activities uses AI to generate a timed game where learners match terms with their definitions. It features a leaderboard to encourage friendly competition.

Create a Matching activity

  1. In Learning Activities, select + New Activity > Matching.

  2. Add your learning content. You can:

    • Paste text directly into the content window.

    • Select + Add Content to upload files from your device or add cloud files from OneDrive.

Supported file types: Word documents, PDFs, PowerPoints, and text files. Content must be between 240 and 50,000 characters.

  3. Select your language.

  4. Configure game settings (both are on by default):

    • Timed Leaderboard — Shows the top 5 fastest times at the end of the activity.

    • Custom Nicknames — Lets players display a custom nickname on the leaderboard. Turn this off to keep everyone anonymous.

  5. Select Generate.

Review and edit terms

After generating, you can review and customize the matching pairs before saving.

Note: Each game uses 6 randomly selected terms from your full set.

  • Edit pairs — Select any term or definition to edit it.

  • Delete pairs — Remove pairs you don't want.

  • Add a blank pair — Add a new term and definition manually.

  • Generate 3 more — Create additional pairs from your content.

  • Edit the title — Select the auto-generated title at the top to rename your activity.
