Applies ToExcel 2010

Summary

This article describes the issues that are fixed in the Microsoft Excel 2010 hotfix package that is dated August 28, 2012.

INTRODUCTION

Issues that this hotfix package fixes

  • When you edit an Excel chart at a zoom value other than 100 percent and then print the chart in a Word document, the size of the chart in the printout is incorrect.

  • After you format an object in an Excel 2010 worksheet, the icon for the object and the file name of the worksheet are not displayed.

  • When you create a SharePoint list on a Microsoft SharePoint site by importing an Excel worksheet, the name of the first column in the list is incorrect, and the positions of the columns in the list are incorrect. Additionally, the values in the columns in the list are converted to hyperlinks.

  • Assume that you insert a PowerPivot Slicer into a PivotTable in Excel 2010. When you try to filter data by using a PowerPivot Slicer value that contains quotation marks, the data is filtered incorrectly.

  • Consider the following scenario:

    • You apply update 2597166 to Excel 2010.

    • You create an Excel workbook (workbook A) in a shared folder.

    • Another workbook (workbook B) is saved in a different shared folder but on the same saver as workbook A.

    • You insert an external link into workbook A that includes a formula that references workbook B.

    • You save workbook A.

    • You open workbook A.

In this scenario, the external link in workbook A is broken.Note This issue occurs when the workbook uses the .xlsx or .xlsb format (including .xlsm, .xlam, .xltx, and .xltm). However, this issue does not occur when the workbook uses the .xls or .xla format.  For more information about update 2597166, click the following article number:2597166MS12-030: Description of the security update for Excel 2010: May 8, 2012
