INTRODUCTION

Issues that this hotfix package fixes

  • Consider the following scenario:

    • You are in an environment that contains two SharePoint realms that are backed by two authorization providers.

    • You have a document that contains hyperlinks pointing to documents on both realms.

    • You click a link that refers to a realm.

    • You click a link that refers to the second realm.

    In this situation, you receive the following error message:

    There was a problem accessing the site. Try to browse to the site again.

  • When you run a macro that manipulates some tables (for example, the macro populates date information in a table) in Word 2010, it takes longer than expected for the macro to finish running.

  • When an email message contains a table that contains merged cells, and you leave the email message open in the background, Outlook 2010 may crash.

  • When you print an email message that contains OLE objects in Outlook 2010, Outlook 2010 may crash. Additionally, you may receive the following error message:

    There is a problem with the selected printer. You might need to reinstall this printer. Try again, or use a different printer.

  • Assume that you clear the Show white space between pages in Print Layout view check box in Word 2010. When you run a macro to set the bounds of a shape in a document in compatibility mode, the bounds are set incorrectly.

  • When you open some dialog boxes, such as the Find and Replace and Insert Hyperlink dialog boxes, in the Japanese version of Word 2010 on a computer that has Windows 8 installed, the dialog boxes are larger than expected.

  • When you run a macro to obtain or set page setup properties in a document that contains a floating table in Word 2010, you receive the following error message:

    error 4605" - "The LeftMargin method or property is not available because the object refers to a framed paragraph.

  • Consider the following scenario:

    • You insert a table of figures into a document in Word 2010.

    • You enable the Track Changes function.

    • You delete a table of figures that contains a caption in the document.

    • You update the table of figures that you inserted.

    In this situation, the table of figures is not updated correctly.

  • Assume that you set Square, Tight, Behind text, In front of text, Through, or Top and bottom as the Insert/paste pictures as value in the Word Options dialog box in Word 2010. When you insert a picture in a document, the picture is inserted unexpectedly at the top of the page.

Registry information

Important Follow the steps in this section carefully. Serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Before you modify it, back up the registry for restoration in case problems occur.After you install this hotfix package, follow these steps, and then restart Word 2010 to enable this hotfix:

  1. Click Start, click Run, type regedit in the Open box, and then click OK.

  2. Locate and then select the following registry subkey:

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\14.0\Word\Options\

  3. On the Edit menu, point to New, and then click DWORD Value.

  4. Type AnchorPictureAtIp, and then press Enter.

  5. In the Details pane, right-click AnchorPictureAtIp, and then click Modify.

  6. In the Value data box, type 1, and then click OK.

  7. Exit Registry Editor.

File information

This hotfix package may not contain all the files that you must have to fully update a product to the latest build. This hotfix package contains only the files that you must have to resolve the issue that listed in this article.The global version of this hotfix package uses a Microsoft Windows Installer package to install the hotfix package. The dates and the times for these files are listed in Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) in the following table. When you view the file information, the date is converted to local time. To find the difference between UTC and local time, use the Time Zone tab in the Date and Time item in Control Panel.
