Summary

This article describes the Microsoft Office 2010 issues that are fixed in the Office 2010 hotfix package that is dated December 14, 2010.

INTRODUCTION

Issues that this hotfix package fixes

  • Consider the following scenario:

    • You configure an Microsoft Office 2010 application to require timestamps in a Windows XP or in a Windows Server 2003 operating system. You do this by setting theĀ MinXadesLevel feature value larger than 1, and setting the TSALocation featurevalue the same as your timestamp server.

    • You try to create a signature in an Office 2010 application document.

In this scenario, you receive the following error message:

Signing cannot be completed due to problems applying the required timestamp. Check your network connection.

NoteĀ This issue occurs when the Office 2010 application sends an incorrect header string to the timestamp servers. Therefore, some timestamp servers cannot send a correct timestamp back.Ā

  • Consider the following scenario:

    • You install Microsoft Dynamics CRM add-in on an Outlook 2010 application.

    • You open more than one Outlook 2010 explorer windows on your computer.

    • You switch folders between the Outlook 2010 explorer windows.

In this scenario, the CRM add-in is reloaded every time when you switch the folders. Therefore, Outlook 2010 crashes intermittently.
