Applies ToMicrosoft SharePoint Foundation 2010

Summary

This article describes the Microsoft SharePoint Foundation 2010 issues that are fixed in the SharePoint Foundation 2010 hotfix package that is dated March 7, 2012.

INTRODUCTION

Issues that this hotfix package fixes

  • Consider the following scenario:

    • You enable the incoming email feature and set an alert for an announcement list in SharePoint Foundation 2010.

    • You send an email message that contains HTML content to the announcement list.

    • You receive an alert email message after a list item is created in the announcement list.

In this scenario, the HTML content in the alert email message is formatted incorrectly.

  • Assume that a SharePoint Foundation 2010 farm contains some webpages that were created by using unique permissions. When you perform a content deployment from the SharePoint farm to another SharePoint farm, the webpages in the new farm do not have unique permissions.

  • When you try to open a large .xsl file by using a Data Form Web Part (DFWP) on a SharePoint Foundation site, the DFWP does not display the file.

  • Consider the following scenario:

    • You create a claims provider to perform a match in SharePoint Foundation 2010.

    • You register the claims provider to a SharePoint Foundation 2010 farm.

    • You type a name that resembles a registered user name in a text box in the people picker control.

    • You click the Check Names button, and the name that you typed is displayed with a red underline.

    • You rest the mouse pointer over the name.

In this scenario, a suggestion for a registered user name that resembles the name that you typed is displayed. However, the suggestion should not be displayed.

  • An EventDeliveryFailedException error causes a workflow to fail in SharePoint Foundation 2010 after you apply the August cumulative update that is descripted in Knowledge Base (KB) article 2553050.

  • Consider the following scenario:

    • You create a task list that contains a Yes/No column that is displayed as a check box in SharePoint Foundation 2010.

    • You add some list items to the task list. The Yes/No check box is selected in some list items and is cleared in some list items.

    • You create a Gantt view for the task list.

    • You view the Gantt view.

In this scenario, the Yes/No check box is selected in all the list items.

  • You cannot restore a draft version of a document to the most recent published version of the document in a document library.

  • Assume that you change the Draft Item Security setting from Any user who can read items to Only users who can edit items in a document library. Then, you perform an incremental crawl. In this situation, users who have read permissions can still see document drafts in the search results.

  • Webpages in a web application load slowly when the claims based authentication mode in the web application is configured to use the NTLM authentication protocol.

  • Consider the following scenario:

    • You upgrade a SharePoint Server 2007 server to a SharePoint Foundation 2010 server.

    • You edit an existing Content Editor Web Part in a SharePoint webpage.

    • You try to apply styles to the content in the Content Editor Web Part.

In this scenario, the styles are not applied to the content.

  • Consider the following scenario:

    • You create a meeting request that has a required attendee in Outlook 2010.

    • You use Outlook 2010 to create a Meeting Workspace on a SharePoint site.

    • You send the meeting request.

    • You view the Meeting Workspace on the SharePoint site.

In this scenario, the required attendee is displayed as an optional attendee.

  • Consider the following scenario:

    • You check out a file from a document library in a subsite of a site collection.

    • You select the Use my local drafts folder check box.

    • You click the Discard Check Out button on the Document ribbon.

In this scenario, an error occurs.

  • This hotfix adds the HeadersForwarded column to the RequestUsage table in the UsageDatabase property.

  • The FormatDate function returns incorrect values in SharePoint Foundation 2010 when you change the locale feature on the Regional Settings page.

  • Consider the following scenario:

    • You create a lookup column and a column that requires a value in a document library.

    • You configure the lookup column to fetch information from a custom list.

    • You upload a document to the document library.

    • You select a value in the lookup column, and you leave the column that requires a value empty in the Upload Document form.

    • You save the form, and then you are prompted to enter a value in the column that requires a value.

    • You enter a value in the column and save the form.

    • You view the properties of the document that you uploaded.

In this scenario, the value that you selected in the lookup column is not displayed.

  • Consider the following scenario:

    • You create a French site collection in SharePoint Foundation 2010.

    • You upload a .pdf file to a document library in the French site collection.

    • You check out and edit the file.

    • You try to check in the file.

In this scenario, you receive the following error message:

Acrobat cannot access the network. Please verify your computer's network connection and try again.

  • When you add a domain security group as a site collection administrator in SharePoint Foundation 2010, the domain security group is not recognized by the SharePoint server.

  • Consider the following scenario:

    • You create two document libraries in a site collection. For example, you create document library A and document library B.

    • You enable the Content Organizer feature in the site collection.

    • You upload a document to document library A, and then you use the Send To command to send the document to document library B.

    • You upload the same document to document library A, and then you use the Send To command to send the document to document library B.

In this scenario, the same document is displayed with different names in document library A.

  • Consider the following scenario:

    • You create a survey on a SharePoint Foundation 2010 site.

    • You create a question in the survey, and you set the answer to the question as an External Data type.

    • You click the Next Question button.

In this scenario, an error occurs.

  • The Edit Control Block (ECB) menu works only in the Name column in a document library. This issue occurs when you view the ECB menu on a list item.

  • Consider the following scenario:

    • You create a folder in a document library.

    • You configure the RSS settings to enable the Link RSS items directly to their files? option in the document library.

    • You view the RSS feed page.

In this scenario, the link to the folder is displayed incorrectly as "http://defaulturi".

  • Assume that there are multiple versions of a list item in a document library. When you click the View Entries command on the ECB menu of a column, the different versions of the list item all point to the latest version of the list item.

  • Consider the following scenario:

    • You create a content source in a search service application.

    • You configure the crawl setting and select the Only crawl the Site Collection of each start address option.

    • You remove a user from a SharePoint security group.

    • You perform an incremental crawl.

In this scenario, the user is not removed from the SharePoint security group.

  • Assume that you have read permissions for some documents in a document library. However, you do not have read permissions for the document library. When you use the SharePoint Explore View feature to view the document library, certain documents for which you have read permissions are not displayed.

  • Assume that you create an external list that contains an InfoPath form, and the InfoPath form uses Business Connectivity Service (BCS) to connect contact entities in an external system. When you create a contact by using the InfoPath form, an exception occurs.

  • When you use Windows Internet Explorer 10 to open a document that is in a SharePoint document library, Internet Explorer 10 and an Office application both download the document unexpectedly.

  • Consider the following scenario:

    • You configure the audit settings in a site collection.

    • You add a user to the site collection, and then you remove the user.

    • You view the audit log reports.

In this scenario, the action of removing the user permissions from the site is not logged in the audit log reports.

  • When you use Microsoft Word 2010 to open a document in a document library, the hyperlinks in the document are corrupted. This issue specifically occurs when a field in the document library is updated by using server or client object models.
