When you’re done, your template might look something like the example below.

Tip: We recommend leaving the default fonts. Once the quote spreadsheet is copied to email, the fonts will render differently in different browsers and email clients. Obviously, your template will look different than the example above.

Once you’ve customized the template, you can save it for re-use.

  1. Select File > Save As, select a location (doesn’t matter where), and then save as an Excel template (*.xltx) as shown in the following example. Once you save as a template type, Excel automatically sets the template location for you by default.Save as template dialog

  2. Type a name for your template. It’s a good idea to add the word “template” to your file name, so it’s easy to recognize.

  3. Select Save.

After you save the template for your personal use, you’ll want to save it to OneDrive and then share it with people in your business who will be responsible for creating Price Quotes for customers.

  1. In Excel, select File > Save As, and then save the file as an Excel template (*.xltx) in OneDrive.

  2. In Excel, select the Share button.

  3. Type the names or email addresses of anyone you want to share the template with, add a message, and select Send. Recipients will receive an email with a link to the template.vsb brand price quote share template

  4. Tip: You can also select Share > Copy Link and then share the link to the template however you want, like in an email, chat message, or document.

If you want to learn more about sharing files from OneDrive or changing permissions, see Share OneDrive files and folders.

Now you’re ready to use the template.

  1. In Excel, click File > New, select Personal and the name of the template you saved.open fabrikam price quote template

  3. Select Save As and save the file as an .xsls file to a secure location. When you save the file, you save it as a worksheet file, not a template.

When the template is filled out, you can send the price quote worksheet as an attachment in Outlook.

  1. In the Excel Search box, type Send, and then select Mail Recipient (As Attachment) as shown in the following example.vsb brand price quote template send search
