E-Discovery search fails in Exchange Online (KB5017430)

Symptoms 

While you migrate users to Exchange Online, an E-Discovery search fails and returns a "Deserialization of type Microsoft.Exchange.Data.ExchangeObjectVersion blocked due to NotInAllow at location MailboxDataStore." error message. This error occurs because E-Discovery search requirements block the mailboxes from being migrated. 

Resolution 

To fix this issue, install the following cumulative update, as appropriate:

• Description of the security update for Microsoft Exchange Server 2019 and 2016: August 9, 2022 (KB5015322)

• Description of the security update for Microsoft Exchange Server 2013: August 9, 2022 (KB5015321)
