Introduction
This article describes an update for Windows Embedded Compact 7. This update enables you to configure which default gateway value or router IP address the Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) allocator sends to DHCP clients.
After you install this hotfix, you can use the new DhcpDefaultGatewayInfo value in the registry to configure which default gateway value or router IP address the DHCP allocator sends. To do this, the DHCP allocator must be enabled on the device. The DhcpDefaultGatewayInfo value is located under the following registry subkey:HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\ConnectionSharingNotes
-
If the DhcpDefaultGatewayInfo value is set to a valid IP address, the DHCP allocator sends this address to DHCP clients as the default gateway information.
-
If the DhcpDefaultGatewayInfo value is set to 0.0.0.0, the DHCP allocator sends no information to DHCP clients as the default gateway value.
-
If the DhcpDefaultGatewayInfo value is either invalid or not available, the DHCP allocator sends the IP address of the adapter to DHCP clients as the default gateway information.
