Symptoms
After you apply Microsoft Forefront Unified Access Gateway (UAG) 2010 Service Pack 1 (SP1), configuration activation time may increase significantly. Additionally, you may see a large increase in the number of underlying Microsoft Forefront Threat Management Gateway rules that are created by Forefront UAG.
Cause
This problem occurs when you publish many non-web applications that are published to multiple IP addresses and ports. In this case, the number of underlying Forefront Threat Management Gateway rules that are created by Forefront UAG increases because of design changes in Forefront UAG 2010 SP1. This causes an increase in the configuration activation time that is associated with the creation and saving of the underlying Forefront Threat Management Gateway rules that are created by Forefront UAG during activation.
