Introduction

This article describes an issue that occurs after a Win32 Console application frequently loads and then frees a Win32 DLL file for a device that's running Windows Embedded Compact 2013. An update is available to resolve this issue. Before you install this update, all previously issued updates for this product must be installed.

Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:

  • You develop a Win32 Console application in Visual Studio 2013 for a device that's running Windows Embedded Compact 2013.

  • You loop a routine that uses a debug version .exe file to call the LoadLibrary function to load a release version .dll file and then call the FreeLibrary function to free the release version .dll file. (Or, the routine uses a release version .exe file to call the LoadLibrary function to load a debug version .dll file and then call the FreeLibrary function to free the debug version .dll file.)

On the 56th iteration of the routine in this scenario, you receive error 1114.
