Symptoms

When you build a project by using Visual Studio 2005 Service Pack 1, you receive the following error message:

This problem occurs when the project has an enumeration that contains many elements and the names of the elements are very long.

Cause

This problem occurs because the debug information that the front-end compiler generates for large enumerations is corrupted.
