Introduction

This article describes an issue in which the EnterCriticalSection function may be called by using an uninitialized critical section object in L2TP in Windows Embedded Compact 7. An update is available to resolve this issue. Before you install this update, all previously issued updates for this product must be installed.

Symptoms

You run an application that uses Layer Two Tunneling Protocol (L2TP) on a Windows Embedded Compact 7-based device. When the application calls the RasDial function after it calls the RasHangup function, the EnterCriticalSection function may be called by using an uninitialized critical section object in L2TP. In this situation, the RaiseException function is called in the debug environment.
