This article describes an issue in which the Input Method Editor (IME) option disappears on a Multilingual User Interface (MUI) Windows Embedded Compact 2013 image. This image is configured to use Asian languages, such as Japanese on a device. After you restart the device, the IME option does not appear on the taskbar. The expected result is that the IME option is displayed on the taskbar, and if you click it, two Japanese IME options are displayed.
An update is available to resolve this issue. Before you install this update, all previously issued updates for this product must be installed.
