Introduction

This article describes an issue that triggers a stack overflow exception when you use a Wi-Fi adapter with legacy NDIS drivers on a Windows Embedded Compact 2013 device. An update is available to resolve this issue. Before you install this update, all previously issued updates for this product must be installed.

Symptoms

Assume that you're using a Wi-Fi adapter with a legacy version of the NDIS drivers, such as NDIS5.x, on a device that's running Windows Embedded Compact 2013. When you turn off the Wi-Fi adapter in this situation, a stack overflow exception occurs. After this issue occurs, the adapter can no longer connect to any Secure Set Identifier (SSID).
