Consider the following scenario. You configure the Host Integration Service account to be a member of a local domain group. Then, you try to use the configuration utility in Microsoft Host Integration Server 2010 after you log on by using a user account from a child domain.

In this scenario, you may receive the following error message:

The account specified is not a member of the HIS Runtime group.

This problem occurs because members of a local domain group cannot be validated against the Host Integration Server Runtime group.

Cumulative update information

The fix that resolves this problem is included in cumulative update package 8 for Host Integration Server 2010. For more information about how to obtain the cumulative update package, see Cumulative update package 8 for Host Integration Server 2010.
